The company found its beginning when young engineer and competition sailor, Michel Dufour, discovered the new construction material, polyester. By the 1980s, Dufour had ushered in a new era of luxury sailing yachts.

Over the years, Dufour continued to develop revolutionary designs with classically elegant lines and unprecedented interior comfort. Michel Dufour’s vision, trailblazing ideas, and legendary designs have not only revolutionized sailboat construction techniques but also made sailing more widely accessible.

Dufour Yachts are 100% made in the company’s La Rochelle, France shipyard, with nearly 400 yachts delivered each year. Today, Dufour monohulls range from 35- to 61-feet, including hybrid electric monohull models boasting industry-leading sustainability technologies.
