Sun Odyssey 350 – Ideal family cruiser

The Sun Odyssey 350 sailboat was assigned the challenging mission of succeeding the popular 349, with its 1,000 units sold. It’s easily recognizable by its composite bow sprit, which mounts the anchor, a feature that the 349 didn’t have. The Sun Odyssey 350 is a brand new boat, with a hull designed to lift out of the water and reduce the overall displacement of the sailboat.

Wider, with a beam of nearly 12-feet (3.59m), the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 350 is a very livable sailboat for its size, but it’s also a lively sailboat, perfect for introducing oneself to the joys of sailing. At 34-feet (10.4m) in length, the Sun Odyssey delivers excellent sensations, with a feeling of being close to the sea. Heeling, sharp accelerations, and wave slapping are all part of the program.

Lively performance

Sailboats of this size have a magical quality for their helmsman, who immediately feels every action on their commands. 3° of helm and the heeling increases, 30 cm of sheet adjustment and you accelerate. These sensations, similar to those experienced on small sports sailboats, are particularly pleasant.

The Sun Odyssey 350 can be equipped with a self-tacking jib at the front, for effortless maneuverability at all times, but it loves to receive the powerful 58m2 Performance rig and its overlapping genoa. So equipped, the Sun Odyssey 350 easily reaches 10 knots upwind.

A thoughtful deck plan

The Sun Odyssey 350 benefits from new side decks that originate in the cockpit and gently rise towards the front of the boat without any steps or obstacles. This distinctive design element contributes to safety.

Another safety feature is the height of the cockpit coaming, which ensures a sense of complete security when the wind picks up.

The aft platform is exceptionally wide for a sailboat of this size and allows easy access to the sea, a closeness that the compact size of the Sun Odyssey 350 enhances for your utmost enjoyment.

The interior of this Sun Odyssey 350 lacks nothing for unforgettable family cruises. The galley is well-equipped, the salon is comfortable and spacious – both bathed in plenty of natural light.

The presence of a chart table is welcome for unfolding a paper chart or a coastal guide to plan your route, and this piece of furniture also serves well as a small desk.

Sun Odyssey 350 specs provide for two layout versions: 2-cabin/1-bathroom with separate water closet, plus a sail locker, or a 3-cabin version with one bathroom.
